Abstract

Research in Person-Centered/Experiential and Emotion-Focused Psychotherapy 2008–2019. A narrative review – part 1. In an article published in 2008, File, Hutterer, Keil, Korunka and Macke-Bruck presented efficacy studies on client/person-centered and experiential psychotherapy from 1991 to 2008. The current paper focusses on the developments in person-centered psychotherapy research in the following 11 years. The resulting narrative review includes all psychotherapy research based on the person-centered approach. The paper includes 343 research articles from 2008 to 2019 published in relevant journals. In the first part, the assigned results from metanalyses, case studies and empirically researched aspects of the psychotherapy process are presented.
