Abstract

Research on person-centred therapy within psychiatry in Germany. The person-centred approach has proven to be appropriate as therapeutic basic concept and as a specific psychotherapeutic procedure as well for the treatment of psychiatric disorders. Clinical practice and the development of disorder related concepts and treatment manuals were the basis for several studies, which indicated a high efficacy, especially in the treatment of anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and personality disorders. In order to avoid a slow down in research, scientific young person-centred therapists must be encouraged and supported.
