Abstract

About the situation of client-centered therapy in research and teachings in Germany. This article gives an overview of the momentary status of CCT within research and teachings amongst German universitarian psychological departments and hospitals. Considered are latest research projects and findings as well as the status of CCT within students’ textbooks. Results: In total the current activities in empirical research are not sufficient, although a tendency towards disorder specified and partly manual based research can be stated. CCT can be found in established textbooks of clinical psychology as well as in the subjects of teachings of universitarian departments, although being less prominent compared to the behavioral and psychodynamic paradigms. Carefully controlled research considering processes and effects of CCT is regarded as furthermore urgently important, since older findings can be considered as non-descriptive of the core of modern CCT.
