Abstract
Impact factors of person-centered relationships from the perspective of neuroscience. This article provides an overview on the possible significance of neurobiological processes for the unfolding of the constructive power of person-centered relationships. This is done by using five impact factors: security, trust, interpersonal synchrony, paraphrasing and dialogical exploration of experiences. It will be demonstrated how these impact factors have a profound influence on the vegetative nervous system, neurochemicals like Oxytocin, neural coupling, emotion regulating neural structures, and the interhemispheric information transfer. Hereby, it is assumed that neurobiological processes in these areas may accompany and facilitate the interaction within the relationship as well as long-term development of the involved persons.
