Abstract
Focusing with traumatized patients in person-centered psychotherapy. With Focusing, Gendlin not only brought us closer to the principle of change, but also provided a helpful map to guide clients safely and helpfully through the process of trauma processing, trauma re-negotiation, integration and transformation of psychological trauma. An important element is that in the therapy we are not regressive, not cathartic, but forward-looking, resource-oriented with the client, working with sensation and the felt sense. Psychoeducation and „leading“ are important and necessary elements in the therapeutical work with traumatized people in order to prevent re-traumatization.
