Jan Engberg is Professor of Knowledge Communication at the Department of Language and Business Communication of the Aarhus School of Business, University of Aarhus, Denmark. Main areas of interest are the study of texts and genres, cognitive aspects of domain specific discourse and basic aspects of communication in domain-specific settings. The focus of his research is on communication and translation in the field of law.

Nina Janich is Professor of German Linguistics at the Technical University of Darmstadt/Germany. Her main areas of interest and research are knowledge communication, business communication (especially language of advertising), text linguistics and language policy/language awareness (Sprachkultur).

Ines-A. Busch-Lauer is Professor of English (Applied Linguistics) and Communication at the University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau/Germany. Her main fields of research comprise English and German specialized communication in various domains (especially in technical subjects, business, medicine, linguistics), the study of texts and genres, contrastive rhetorics and intercultural communication, academic writing in English and LSP didactics.

Editorial Secretary

Anja Steinhauer, PhD in German Linguistics, 1994–2006 scientific assistant at the Society of German Language in Wiesbaden, Germany, and editor in charge of the professional journal “Der Sprachdienst”. Since 1996 she has been working as an orthography trainer and has held lectures at universities and schools. Publications specializing on word formation, especially clippings and other ways of word shortening in LSP and German orthography. Since 2006 she has been director of the editing company texfit.

Hanna Risku is Professor for Translation Studies at the University of Vienna in Austria. Prior to her work in Vienna, she was Professor for Translation Studies at the University of Graz and Professor for Applied Cognitive Science and Technical Communication, Vice Rector and Head of Department at the Danube University Krems in Austria. In the course of her career, she has also lectured at various universities in Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Spain. Her main areas of interest are the cognitive scientific foundations of translation, situated cognition, translation networks, ethnographic field research and workplace research of translation, and translation as computer-supported cooperative work.
