Abstract
On practice, the profound expertise and the didactic art of person-centered therapy. Considering the growing pressure of optimizing pedagogical concepts and the tendency of introducing standards in pedagogical work, play therapy is regarded as a highly individualized way of childhood development. This means that the work of a play therapist can only be as good as his level of knowledge, his understanding and his skills and moreover is dependent on the therapist’s personality. The challenges of a play therapy and its course of action will be shown by the example of “Silvio”. On this basis several questions rise. First of all how can specific skills in the education of play therapists be passed on and secondly how can we meet the different requirements oft he therapist’s training that is very often based on a teaching and learning situation which depends on a lively exchange between the trainee and his teacher and therefore demands a lot from the tutor and his personality.
