Abstract
“In-Beziehung-Stellen” — Constellation work in the Person-Centered Approach. Constellation work as a person-centered tool is still playing a minor role within Person-Centered Approach. This is also due to the fact that constellation work has the reputation of being performance-, solution- and goal-oriented while the person-centered approach on the other hand is characterized by non-directive, process- and relationship-oriented procedure. This article presents a constellation work which corresponds deeply to the personcentered understanding of a relationship-led and experiencing approach. I am calling this kind of constellation work “In-Beziehung-Stellen” (Putting in Relation). It combines the dialogic perspective respectively the encounter-idea with the experiencing and focusing-oriented theory of Eugene T. Gendlin – mainly his concept of body and space. With directing one’s attention to the bodily and spacial relation experiencing, implicit experiences can be explicated and therefore constellation work as embodiment can grow to a symbolization process towards more congruence. A very detailed example of constellation work will show how
such a symbolization process can be initiated, supported and encouraged.
