Abstract

Against the backdrop of neuroscientific findings, concepts that place the body and affects at the center of attention are receiving increasing attention in work-related counselling.
This article explores the question of what role bodily and emotional experience actually plays in coaching and how corresponding processes can be described. The basis for this is a study by the author, in which he examined recorded coaching processes by means of a task analysis in order to identify steps of a change process.
A coaching-related change model is developed, the starting point of which are trilemma situations in the sense of an incongruence or tension between situational reference and contradictory parts of affective-cognitive perception. Based on this, possibilities are shown for using the Felt Sense or Experiencing as a resource for clarification processes in coaching.
