Abstract
Understanding and Changing Behavior and Conditions – Coaching for Executives Based on Person- Centered Systems Theory. Individual coaching for private individuals can take place in the protected context of a dyadic setting. Individual coaching for managers is fundamentally different because an organization is involved in the process from the moment the assignment is placed. Coaching for employees of an organization can only be successful if the culture, goals, structure, dynamics and development tasks of the commissioning system are adequately understood in the spirit of the respective coaching task and taken into account in all interventions. This requires the coach to have prior knowledge of leadership and organization, appropriate methodological skills and a theoretical model in order to be able to analyze, understand, and change the complexity of the topic together with the coachee.
This article addresses the question of whether person-centered systems theory provides a sufficient theory for advisory work in organizations. To answer this question, a specific form of coaching will be examined in more detail. It is shown how the interaction of the various process levels can be analyzed, named, and used in coaching for managers using person-centered systems theory.
