Abstract

Systemic thinking and acting experientially: the Emotion-Focused Couple Therapy. The purpose of this paper is to present the practical and theoretical concepts of Emotion Focused Couple Therapy (EFT) as well as the research done within this approach around process and outcome. The article is based on literature on this topic published until 2003. The approach is looked at asking how experiential therapy, the systemic-constructivist approach and attachment theory can be combined. The presentation of the outcome and process research which shows EFT as an efficacious, effective and efficient intervention is embedded in the discussion about evidence based psychotherapy.
