Abstract
Antisocial personality disorder: diagnostics, theory of disorder and therapy from a person-centered perspective. In this paper, we introduce a person-centered concept linked to antisocial (dissocial) personality disorder in order to derive suggestions for the therapy of these clients from this model. We assume that many of the persons which are diagnosed with antisocial (dissocial) personality disorder suffered from traumatic experiences in the earlier part of their lives, and that dissociation (a reasonable coping-strategy, which later turns out to be dysfunctional) leads to the development of severe personality disorder. We illustrate our model by means of two case-studies.
