Abstract

Clients are Artists. On the process of understanding of a therapist. Starting from creative works of clients, this essay focuses on the latter’s congruence. The products made by clients aged ten and eight direct the author’s focus towards the client as an artist who acts congruently. These artists discover topics that concern all of us. We like to encounter each other congruently or we strive to protect us against attacks. The clients’ works of art are discussed by the means of play, clinical focus, actualizing tendency and that of self-assertion. The essay concludes with theses, which emphasize that clients are artists, moreover that their products of art are signs of change and, finally, that the therapist acts as an owner of a gallery.
