Abstract
“My time has changed”. Process analysis with an emotional neglected child. This work gives a shortened process analysis of a person-centered psychotherapy. The therapy with a 10½ year-old female client experiencing fears of death, emotional outbursts and symptoms of control compulsions is described – with one especial focus on the process the therapist has experienced. The therapist tried to be in contact with the client in a way, that the client could develop freely in her experience and supported in this way the client’s selfexploration. The therapist relied, above all, on the actualization tendency and consciously refrained from technically guided therapy interventions. She only offered game material to support the symbolization of the experience. In this play therapy the client becomes acquainted with her inner world by approaching her inner experience, needs, desires and disappointments. The paper shows very concretely how person-centered play therapy works. The names of the persons and other information that could allow conclusions about the client have been changed.
