Abstract

In this article a distinction is made between person-centered and person-oriented psychotherapy. Person-centered therapy is considered a separate school of therapy, while person-oriented therapy is considered as a metatheory for all psychotherapy. It is argued that the latter is more in keeping with the spirit of Carl Rogers than the first.
